Breastfeeding After a Breast Lift

A common question asked during consultations is whether you can breastfeed after a mastopexy or breast lift procedure, and the answer will vary between patients as well as the breast lift technique used.

As a general rule, it’s better to wait until you have decided not to have any further children because your breasts may change during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. So, you may need to have a revision surgery to lift your breasts again.

It’s important to note that whilst there may be a good chance of breastfeeding after a breast lift, there are no guarantees and each patient will be different. That is why it is best to have an in-person consultation with your plastic surgeon, and discuss your family goals as well as the look you wish to achieve.

If you want to replace volume and lift your breasts, Dr Milovic will discuss breast implants as well. A breast lift alone will not increase the size of your breasts.
